CERAMICS IN THE FOREST
[A day of clay, woodland inspiration, and slow, intuitive making]
Step into the grounding presence of the Earth element and discover the quiet rhythm of creating with clay, surrounded by the stillness of the forest.
Ceramics is a practice open to everyone. Whether you’re working with clay for the first time or returning to a familiar craft, the process offers an invitation to slow down, focus your attention, and create through touch rather than expectation.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Working with clay has long been associated with presence, patience, and connection.
As one of nature’s fundamental elements, earth offers a sense of stability and belonging. Through shaping, pressing, and forming, the hands gradually quiet the mind, allowing creativity to emerge from a place of calm rather than effort.
Throughout the day, inspiration will be gathered directly from the surrounding woodland. Forest walks, natural textures, seasonal details, and quiet observation become part of the creative process, while atmospheric music and freshly prepared herbal teas accompany the making.
The experience concludes with a seasonal Wild Dinner, celebrating the day’s journey around a shared table.
During the workshop you will:
__learn the fundamentals of hand-building with clay;
__explore both practical techniques and creative approaches to ceramics;
__create up to two original ceramic pieces to take home after firing and glazing.

Welcome and introduction to ceramic techniques.

Guided walk through the forest to gather inspiration and natural forms.

Studio session — translating observations and ideas into clay (approximately 3 hours).

Seasonal Wild Dinner and closing of the workshop.
About Ieva Pachomova – Dega
Contemporary ceramic artist Ieva Pachomova – Dega is known for her sculptural works inspired by wild landscapes, mythology, and the relationship between humans and the natural world.
Her practice combines contemporary artistic expression with ancient firing techniques, creating works that feel both timeless and deeply connected to the living landscape.
Your finished pieces will be professionally fired and glazed by the artist and will be ready for collection approximately two weeks after the workshop.
Places are intentionally limited to 14 participants, allowing for an intimate and unhurried creative atmosphere.
