“NUORAMOS” AN EXHIBITION BY R. ŽIGONIS

05. 23 – 05. 31 11:00 – 18:00

[Paintings, a video installation, and contemplative gatherings in nature]

In “Nuoramos” (States of Stillness), artist Rolandas Žigonis presents a series of fifteen works exploring the relationship between inner silence and the imagination.

The exhibition weaves together mythological imagery, animal archetypes, otherworldly landscapes, and abstract forms into a contemplative visual language. Alongside the paintings, a painterly video installation – created in collaboration with Andrius Šidlauskas – offers glimpses into the emergence of both poetry and image.

ABOUT EXHIBITION

The Lithuanian word Nuoramos evokes a state of deep settling – a conscious return to stillness from which a more sensitive relationship with oneself and the surrounding world begins to emerge.

Here, stillness is understood not merely as a psychological state, but as a way of perceiving – a quiet openness to something greater than ourselves.

Žigonis’ creative process is guided by trust in emergence rather than intention. Instead of constructing meaning, he allows images to reveal themselves gradually, arriving from an inner landscape beyond conscious control. As thoughts soften, the painting is invited to unfold in its own time, becoming an act of listening rather than making.

The works invite visitors into contemplative landscapes where meaning remains deliberately open. Rather than offering explanations, they create space for observation, imagination, and quiet reflection.
